Age-Defying Fitness

What is your plan for a lifetime of physical fitness? If it does not include the classical Pilates Method, it should.  Here’s why.

Pilates is a unique body conditioning regimen designed to lengthen, strengthen, decompress, tone, align, slenderize, sculpt and balance the physical structure. It’s corrective exercise. It’s stretching with strength and control. The outcomes of the practice of Pilates are optimal functionality, mobility, verticality and sustainability. It literally enables you to age-proof your body.

My process features the introduction of a logical  progression of Pilates exercises that address the structural flaws unique to your body that may have caused stooped posture, muscular and joint pain, weakness, stiffness and loss of muscle tone. You will work to strengthen the supportive musculature in the center of the body and perform body opening, postural improving movements that strengthen the abdominals, the back and the muscles of the upper and lower extremities. All of this lays the foundation for creating lasting structural change and unveils elegant body lines.

Mindful Movement

Mastery of the Pilates technique is achieved by the union of the body and mind. No exercising by rote here! Neuromuscular re-patterning whereby with visualization, intention setting and focus, you begin to recruit the correct muscle groups that establish movement patterns that alleviate strain, tension, muscle imbalances.  You grow in your understanding of what it means to work from the "inside out".

No Boring Routines

The novel exercises performed on the Pilates apparatuses offer you great variety. Each session has different choreography, so you're never bored. The routines are creative, challenging, always fresh, mind-engaging and fun. You will learn how to incorporate the six principles of the Pilates method: centering, control, concentration, precision, flow, and breath into your practice. Combining studio instruction and at home self-practice accelerates your progress.
